After having two kids ages 8 and 3, you’d think I have this whole parenting thing down. BUT, each and every day I face those challenges that come along with parenting; the ones that makes us feel like a TOTAL MESS! Some days these moments challenge us mentally, spiritually and physically. I often find myself looking for answers, parenting hacks, or tip’s and tricks to keep the Messy Momma Moments at bay. I want what’s best for my children, and that includes the best mom to raise them right. I know that I am not the only mother in the world who fears she’s failing when she faces these moments. But in a society filled with digital parenting, social media, and all sorts of forums and filters, sometimes you feel as though you are the only mom who’s kids just spilled the cereal for the um-teenth time today, the only one who’s been in the same shirt for 3 days straight with laundry piling up, and the only mom who wishes she was doing something better.
Luckily, you are not alone. These moments are totally natural. THEY COME WITH THE TERRITORY. It’s expected of a new born baby to have poop that looks like tar, your going to have 1 or 2 or 100 exploding diapers on this journey, and you can bet that your dog is going to find those diapers and tear it to shreds all over your house. You’re going to get peed on, pooped on, spit up on, progectile vomited on, drooled on, and lots more. Your toddler is going to draw all over your walls, take all the toilet paper and shove it down the toilet (along with a toy or two), and throw super loud tantrums in the grocery store. Your young one is going say a thing or two that will blow your mind. And you will have questions asked that you have no idea how to answer. But with each of those moments you impress yourself with how wonderfully you handled them.
Don’t let those Messy Momma Moments get you down. Instead let them build you up, because at the end of the day you are going to remember them, and depending on how you handled it will determine if it was for better or worse. So, welcome to the Messy Momma Blog!
